There are established and active patient participation groups in many of our GP practices across East and North Hertfordshire.
Groups work in close partnership with the practice and their staff and have contributed in a number of ways to improve the patient experience and environment. For example groups are currently:
- working alongside GP commissioners on promoting awareness and self- management of long term conditions such as diabetes.
- Involved in a major drive to identify and support carers, working with practice staff and voluntary sector partners
These are not groups that work as a sounding board for patient complaints but instead represent patient views on the management of healthcare in their area and work to improve the experience and environment of patients at their practice.
Some of our groups meet on a regular basis, while others are virtually based and ask patients to contribute their ideas and opinions via email or electronic survey. The way you contribute is really up to you; the important thing is that your voice is heard.
If you’d like to get involved with the patient participation group at your practice, you can find their website link on the respective locality web page by clicking here. Alternative you can email us and we will put you in touch with your practice.
