Francis Enquiry - The Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, Lessons and Recommendations
The Board and members of East and North Herts Clinical Commissioning Group (ENHCCG) welcome the findings of the Francis Report on the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust inquiry and are actively taking steps to act on the report’s recommendations.
As commissioners of healthcare for the people of East and North Hertfordshire, we are committed to ensuring that the safety and care of our patients is our paramount concern. We have studied the report’s recommendations to ensure that we embed the lessons learned. As a result we have developed an action plan to show how we will meet the Francis recommendations, following a review of our policies and procedures. An internal report which addresses key elements and recommendations within the Francis Report that have direct implications for the CCG was endorsed by the Board following an in-depth discussion.
Our report highlights our commitment to drive quality improvements, effectively monitor the quality of service provision, hold providers to account, re-provide services where there are concerns and advise regulators where fundamental standards have been breached.
We are determined that the outcome of this review will be to see real quality improvements in the services we commission for our patients.
