Equality impact assessments

Equality impact assessments

Our commissioning decisions, policies and strategies are subject to equality impact assessments.

An Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is a process to ensure that a policy, project or scheme does not discriminate against any disadvantaged or vulnerable people.

In 2017 we introduced a policy for the process of conducting equality impact assessments as part of our priorities forum. You can view the policy and associated templates by clicking here.

We routinely conduct the equality impact assessment process across our day-to-day duties, which include:

  • developing strategies and business cases
  • service reviews and specifications
  • developing clinical policies
  • procurement and contract management.

If you would like to view any of our equality impact assessments, they can be found alongside our policies, which can be downloaded by clicking here.

Equality impact assessments are also published as part of our Governing Body papers. You can download meeting papers from our Governing Body meetings in public by clicking here.
