From 1 July 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups will be cease to exist. Commissioning functions and information that has been previously held by East and North Hertfordshire CCG is transferring to the new NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (HWEICB) on 1 July 2022.

HWEICB will become the new data controller. Any questions about the use of data (including patient data) by the new ICB should be directed to hertsvalleysccg.hwecorporategovernance@nhs.net

There are no changes to how local residents access NHS frontline services in Hertfordshire and West Essex as part of these changes.

Update on patient Transport services

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST), the new care taker provider of non-urgent patient transport services, is putting in place new arrangements to provide transport services in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Luton.

All patients who are eligible for patient transport, and have transport booked for their next out-patient appointment, should call EEAST’s contact centre on 0345 605 1208 to confirm their transport arrangements. Eligible patients should also use this number for making bookings.

We are encouraging patients who are able to make their own way to their appointments to do so if possible.

The priority for everyone concerned is to get the new service fully established to meet patients’ needs, and making sure patients know how to access the service.

We are aware that there have been concerns about the quality of the transport service from the previous provider and we are committed to making sure that future services meet the needs of patients.

Please contact 0345 605 1208

This number is operational 8am to 6pm Monday to Sunday.

Updated: 20 December 2017

Patients on low incomes can claim reimbursement under the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme. Unless attending a hospital with a cash office, claims will need to be made by post using a HC5(T) form.
