A major campaign is being launched to help reduce the staggering £7 million bill for medicines which are prescribed every year in Hertfordshire and west Essex but never used.
Over 120 unsung heroes of health care have gathered together from across Hertfordshire and west Essex to celebrate the first National Allied Health Professionals Day.
A local NHS project has won national recognition, thanks to work which has stopped nearly 3,000 medicines being given unnecessarily to care home residents.
Patients registered with GP practices in east and north Hertfordshire are now able to book appointments as part of the ‘extended access’ service during evenings and weekends.
As temperatures start to dip and the nights draw in, health and care organisations across the whole of Hertfordshire and west Essex are planning for winter together for the first time.
