Patient/Carer representative to join respiratory steering group

Patient/Carer representative to join respiratory steering group

Project Description

NHS East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (ENHCCG) has a Respiratory programme with the ambition of improving care for people registered with an GP Practice in the east and north Hertfordshire area and either living, or caring for someone with, a diagnosed respiratory condition, such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

This cohort of patients, similar to other Long-Term Conditions, require a holistic approach to the delivery of their care.

Patient/Carer Representative Involvement

We would like to recruit a Patient Representative, ideally with experience of COPD, to join our Respiratory programme, represent the patient opinion and give their views.

There are two main areas for which we are requesting patient support:

  1. Respiratory Stakeholder Meeting: Attendance to the bi-monthly meeting (normally held at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage) where all organisations involved in respiratory care discuss current service provision, developments and risks.
  2. Respiratory Service Review: The CCG is reviewing the services that are offered to respiratory patients to ensure patients are accessing the right care at the right time. This will require virtual review (by e-mail) of proposed plans to provide the patient opinion.

The role would be undertaken on a voluntary basis, although any expenses incurred as part of the role will be refunded.

If you are interested and would like to discuss this further please contact Emma Hollingsworth, Acting Programme Lead, on 01707 685363.

If you would be interested in applying for this role, please email: with your contact details and details of how you meet the criteria set out above.
